The Wetumpka Bash was so fun and enlightening! I met many, many nice, fun and helpful people. I ALSO HAD THE GREAT, GOOD FORTUNE TO BROWSE ALL OF THE VENDOR BOOTHS AND THERE WERE TREASURES GALORE!!! I indulged myself and took home lotsa goodies!!!
One of my many favorite stops was Lori Betts booth! She is an amazingly talented illustrator and artist who designs tablecloths, dinner napkins and dish towels by applying her exquisite paintings to the textiles. I bought 8 dinner napkins with my FAVORITE flower on Earth - hydrangeas! As I walked away, I was already thinking about the first dinner party Id have with the hydrangea dishes and the hydrangea napkins and was so pleased with the conjuring! AND THATS WHEN IT HAPPENED! I STOPPED IN MY TRACKS! I saw IT! As so often happens after a stunning purchase, the dreaded, Fairy of All Things Beautiful, whispers in my ear and baits me to buy more!
You know that these eight napkins arent enough for you, you know that you have to have IT too!andnbsp; was a white tablecloth on which Lori had hand-painted red and pink florals with their delicate green leaves and red stripes; this magnificent bundle of cotton and paint weakened my knees and tugged at my heart-strings - each time I walked by. And, walked by, I did. I stalked Loris booth over the next three days and gawked. I told myself that it was foolish to buy linens when I had no red-vibrant dishes to complement it!
andnbsp;Even though it is THE PERFECT holiday cloth festooned with the pink and red flowers and delicate leaves of green, I knew that I was deluding myself! I wouldt wait until Valentines Day, which was seven-months away, nor would I postpone until Christmas which was only five-months in the future! Would I even sleep soundly knowing such beauty was in the dark, packed away - and waiting for MONTHS to make its debut???Regardless, I had to have it!!! So!!! Ooooo la la!!! I bought it! So, now Im on the hunt for china that will parallel the magnificence of this cloth!However, in the meantime, I HAD TO SET A TABLE ! I used what I had to compile my stacks. I completed the floral arrangement with my permanent botanical stash and then added red glass pieces to setoff a traditional vibe. Thank you, Lori Betts for sharing your talents with us! I am a happy girl! Your tablecloth sits sentinel on my table!!!
